IIRSM Approved PUWER Qualification

PUWER + UKCA/CE Marking Training

Our IIRSM (International Institute of Risk & Safety Management) approved training course is a 4 day course that is designed to provide the necessary information and detail to inform customers of their obligations under PUWER and CE/UKCA along with knowledge to assist with enabling much of the PUWER and CE/UKCA marking processes to be carried out in-house.

The training includes both knowledge-based training and supervision modules, on the completion of which, the candidates will be eligible for examination to determine that they have achieved the required level of competence. Upon successful completion of the examinations, certification from MSCS + IIRSM declaring that candidates have achieved the required level of competence as detailed in the syllabus will be provided.

PUWER - Acquisition and Safe Use of Machinery

A course designed to give users of machinery the knowledge to use and maintain their machinery safely in accordance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

In addition, to assist when purchasing new and second-hand equipment by developing awareness of the manufacturer’s obligations under EU Directives and UK regulations in particular the processes involved in CE/UKCA Marking (Regulation 10).

UKCA/CE Marking for Machinery

This course gives the knowledge and experience to understand the requirements of the Machinery Directive and The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations. The course aims to provide information, knowledge and experience to aid in achieving competence in order to design, purchase or modify machinery in accordance with the European Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), and associated Directives or with the equivalent UK Regulations. And to declare compliance by CE or UKCA Marking!

Application of Functional Safety to Machinery Systems

This course gives users, engineers and designers of safety related control systems the knowledge and experience to develop compliant and validated “Functional Safety Systems” in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849-1, BS EN 62061 and BS EN 61508. We demonstrate practical methods of verification and validation of systems.

Other BS EN Standards

Whilst following the standards aren't law they can be used to show compliance with it. There are various standards that can be used under PUWER and for UKCA/CE Marking to demonstrate compliance, some of which include BS EN ISO 12100, BS EN 14120, BS EN 13857. These covering topics such as risk assessments, guarding types and distances. This is not an exclusive list but these amongst others will be touched upon as part of this course.

Location and Duration

This is a 4 day course and can be carried out at your premises for larger groups or at ours if there are only a few people who wish to attend. Training dates at your premises are arranged by mutual agreement. Dates currently planned for training sessions at ours are:
